Aloha!
It is our pleasure to share this important document, the Hawaiʻi 2050 Sustainability Plan: Charting a Course for the Decade of Action (2020-2030) with you!
The State of Hawaiʻi’s Office of Planning and Sustainable Development’s Statewide Sustainability Program recently updated the Hawaiʻi 2050 Sustainability Plan to serve as the State’s sustainability and climate strategic action plan; align the State’s goals, policies, and actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; and recommend sustainability and climate change actions for 2020–2030.
To ensure that the plan reflects a sustainable and achievable vision, the State of Hawaiʻi Office of Planning and Sustainable Development renewed the Hawaiʻi 2050 Sustainability Plan for the decade ahead. The revised plan will guide the coordination and implementation of Hawaiʻi’s sustainability and climate adaptation goals, principles, and policies, pursuant to Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes §226-65. It will also provide recommendations for a sustainable and resilient economic recovery for Hawaiʻi.
Hawaiʻi’s climate is changing, and we must act together to incorporate climate resilience and sustainable development in our every day lives.
Mahalo to the many hands who lent their hands in many different ways to perform this important update to the Hawaiʻi 2050 Sustainability Plan, including the hundreds of individuals and community members across all our Hawaiian Islands, organizations, businesses, State and County agencies that contributed to the development of this plan.
